We have had a wonderful time in L'Atelier. Cooked dinner in the lovely kitchen most days.

We love this place.
It's even more beautiful than the pictures on the website, and the sense of peacefulness and quiet is a gift.
The minute we saw L'Atelier we loved it - it's such a great living space. Spacious and simply but beautifully furnished. And then there's the outside, stunningly beautiful and so alive! I've never seen so many incredible butterflies, and never heard so many crickets and toads.
It felt like home, and for that we're very grateful to you for all the information, for your warm welcome and relaxed approach.
Alma and Raphael loved playing with Sophia. We'd love to come again.
And we're curious to see who Sophia becomes - she is such a little powerhouse!
Enjoy the peace when all the guests have gone! We hope to see you again some time.

Thank you for a lovely week. We have all loved the beautiful surroundings (plunge pool, early morning run for croissants and family of wild boar as well as the stunning views).
Thank you so much for your hospitality and warmth - inviting us to do some artwork and play with Sophia.
A definite highlight was 'Au Diamant Noir' in Montferrer - the owners were charming, food delicious and the atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for. We also very much enjoyed driving to Ceret for a meal and the Tuesday evening craft market and a trip to 'Le Racou' beach as it wasn't to
crowded.
We had a fantastic week and hope to see you again - but in the meantime best of luck for the future!

We had a wonderful time here ... It is such a beautiful and tranquil place. We felt so tucked away in our Bergerie (Philipp kept expecting apes to come down the trees).
We liked the hikes a lot ... and will keep a great memory of our 'wet' walk to the three forts (and our drive back in our swimwear). We are really impressed by the beautiful region. So if you see a little 'chocolate box' place with a nice view on the valley, let us know!
And if you visit Edinburgh, let us know too, we'd be glad to have you over.

A dream come true!
It was my dream to spend some time in your area. Destiny led me to your place. You accommodated us as if we were family members ... thank you so much ... your hospitality is unique.
We will never forget the cosy flat, the extraordinarily pure nature with its unforgettable scents and the sounds of silence we experienced when hiking.
Besides that there were so many fascinating places we could visit which made us curious for more.
Until now I have always had the motto never to return to a place I have been to once. You can be sure that for the first time in my life it is Hans Jürgen's and my wish to return to you.

Soms klopt alles en vindje een paradijsje. Jullie liefde
voor Can Llouquette straalt naar alle kanten: het mooie houten huise met de
prachtige details, van (boeken) kast tot handdoeke, van natuur stenen-terras
tot bloemenstruiken we genoten van de vlinders, de vogels en het ruisen van
de beck, het zwembad en de (wifi) terrasje. We hopen dat we hier ooit weer
terug mogen kome.

Thank you Simon, Ashley & Sophia for your warm welcome and hospitality in Can Llouquette We loved it all!
We were torn between enjoying the house, pool and grounds, and visiting the wider area.
Most of all we enjoyed visiting Prats-de-Mollo and buying food and wine for easy picnics in the house. Fort Lagarde was amazing, the tunnel a complete surprise.
We drove down the coast to the Spanish border, and ate well in a fish restaurant in Port Vendres, after watching a boat land the catch. We will be sad to leave on Saturday and could have stayed longer.

We have spent a lovely week here, enjoying the beautiful setting, the very warm welcome and the Bergerie itself. We have not wandered far ... Camprodon for the Sunday market, Prats-de-Mollo for lunch and the march up to the castle through the tunnel with our own little 'soldiers' (3 & 5) both were very enjoyable - but really we have been very content to explore
all that Can Llouquette has to offer, which is a lot.
The weather hasn't been terribly kind to France this week, but we have been in and out of the pool merrily, in the stream picnicked among the trees, spotted lizards, frogs, birds and butterflies,. The boys have swam, swung, fed donkeys and fish, played happily together, and particularly happily with 'princess' Sophia, who they were clearly delighted by.
And they ave slept very well, a real testament to the fun that they have had, allowing the grown-ups tranquil evenings watching the moon, stars, clouds and bats moving through the sky.
Would thoroughly recommend a meal at Le Diamant Noir in Montferrer - we rather wish we'd gone earlier in the week, because then we'd have gone more than once.
I very much hope that we'll be back.

Two weeks is a must to empty your mind and soak up the ambience and terroir of 'la belle Vallespir'.
Keep your eyes on the notice board outside the cafe at Montferrer. Spanish evening was a blast, unlimited vin ... hic! Bread and croissants crispy and fresh from Giselles along with a bonjour and smiles.
Can Nadal sheep's cheese goes well with local organic rose wine. The French markets are best to sample more local foods.
Plenty of wildlife to avoid on the roads after dark ... wild boar, and young pine marten, foxes and deer.
Last but not least, the beauty and kindness of Can Llouquette. Simon, Ashley and Sophia who all enhanced our stay.
Thanks for a quiet and nice place to hide away for one week. It has truly been relaxing ... and since it seems to be an international guestbook ...
Det her vart en avslappende fin uke. Avslappende for hele familien. Barna har likt friheten de har fått av å være beite fra hverdagens mas og kjas. Esel, katter og sommerfugler har vært en fin attraksjon. Dere har virkelig en flott plass som utgangspunkt for en fjellferie
i Pyrineene!

Nous avons passe une agréable semaine dans ce paradis vert.
Au moindre rayon de soleil nous avons profite de cette superbe terrasse, souvent avec la compagnie de nos amies les chats!
Mais une semaine c'est trop court ... nous avons manque de temps pour faire quelques randonnées. Mais nous avons visite la région, on vous conseille d'aller jusqu’à la cote merveille si la route ne vous effraye pas, sa en vont la peine.

Back a year later! Still a fabulous oasis of tranquillity and another 2 weeks charging
our batteries. Cats remain entertaining as ever
(we have told them they will need to make friends with their owners some time
soon!).
Seven books read between us, four fishing expeditions and numerous watercolours
painted ... all the things we never have enough time for at home. Lovely.
Wildlife cameras snapped deer and a wild boar and three babies - awesome and
all at Can Llouquette!!

Quel bonheur d'avoir séjourne chez vous, en toute amitié, dans
ce pays du Canigou. Nous avons fait ici, en 2 semaines, le plus beau voyage
de notre vie, de Montpellier a Barcelone, de Montferrer a tous ces endroits
remplis de charme et d'histoire que nous avons découverts.
Votre gîte nous a permis de vivre entre mer et montagne,
au milieu d'une foret enchantée, complétement séduits
par la symphonie des oiseaux infatigables, et au cœur du jardin fleuri
des Pyrénées Orientales.
Soyez certains que nous avons apprécié tous ces outils, revues,
cartes, et conseils qui nous ont aides et inspires pour nos escapades. Nous

Can Llouquette ist ein herrliches Fleckchen Erde!
Ein Paradies für Kinder, schade, daß unsere vier schon zu groß sind,
sie hätten ihren Spas hier gehabt!
Leider sind die 14 Tage schon vorbei, wir haben die
Ruhe hier genossen, das Rauschen des Bächleins, morgens von Vogelgezwitscher geweckt werden und
von den süßen Kätzchen begrüßt zu werden!
Gott sei Dank wurde das Wetter mit der Zeit besser
und wir konnten einige schöne Touren mit dem Motorrad unternehmen.
Dir Lieber Simon wünschen wir, wenn Dein Motorrad da ist, viel Spaß,
schöne Touren und allzeit gute Fahrt! Vielleicht fährt Ashley ja
mal mit, es macht echt Spaß.
Wir wuschen Euch "3" alles, alles gute für die Zukunft und

Wir, d.h. Stefan und ich mochten uns auf diesem Wege
ganz herzlich für
die 14 wunderschönen Urlaubstage in Eurer Obhut bedanken. Wir haben uns
hier sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt, zum einem weil wir beide die schone Natur
und Stille lieben und zum Anderem weil wir uns in Eurer Wohnung sehr viel liebe,
Präzision und perfekt eingerichteten Heim sehr wohl gefühlt haben,
ein loderndes Feuer im Kaminofen und ein guter Französischer Wein haben
das Ganze dann noch abgerundet.
Dieses Fleckchen Erde ist wirklich ein kleines
Paradies und mit sehr sehr viel Liebe und Fleiß hergerichtet worden.
Für Kinder wäre es ein großes Abenteuer das Umfeld zu erkunden.

From the moment we arrived at Can Llouquette you have made us feel so welcome in your beautiful home.
The evening meal with carafe of local wine was fantastic and very welcome after our journey.
We are also very grateful for the local knowledge and the use of your carte de randonnée.
We can recommend some great walks including the GR10 north from Arles-sur-Tech up to Dolmen, up the valley from la Preste les Bains and through the Forest de L’Ouillât, and also a great local walk up to Montferrer Castel and the round through the forest past Font del Brigadier.
Thanks so much for a great holiday.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour a Can Llouquette. L’endroit est féerique. Parfait pour se reposer et se retrouver en famille ou en couple.
La Bergerie est une petite merveille avec tout l’équipement nécessaire. Placée en retraite; de la terrasse on se croisait suspendu en haut des arbres avec la douce musique de la rivière et le vol majestueux des chauves-souris le soir venu ...
Mais Can Llouquette ne serait rien sans le générosité et la bonne humeur de ses propriétaires.
Merci à Ashley, Simon et Sophia d'avoir tout fait pour rendre notre séjour parfait.
Nous vous souhaitons une belle et heureuse vie a Can Llouquette, petit coin de paradis.

Superlatives just don't cover it. Can Llouquette is not only charming, warm and very inviting, it is truly food for the soul and spirit.
Simon, Ashley and Sophia ... make you feel like you are coming
home to family ... The views from the Bergerie are exquisite - we were privileged
to watch spring explode forth on the trees. Each morning presented a new view. The only
regret is not being able to capture with camera the sense and sounds of the
property; the relaxing sounds of the river. How peaceful.
We fully appreciate
the sensitivity to the environment. Can Llouquette will be with us in our hearts,
tucked away for those times we need to slip into tranquillity for a brief moment.

you so much for an incredible week. We really enjoyed the peaceful solitude
of Can Llouquette and breakfasts on the terrace surrounded by cats (we discovered
that cats don’t listen to Dan, but they do listen to me ...)
Also, thanks
again for the election night dinner by the glow of Al Jazeera. I’m
not sure if I’ll be let back in the country again due to that, but it
was somehow fitting (and at least partially good news on Wednesday morning!).
We’ve
really, really enjoyed our time here – the nice walks and gorgeous
surroundings mean we’ll be going back to the rat race and chaos of
London in a slightly less stressed and more rested state. With a bit of luck
we might
retain some of the zen calm ...

a peaceful week so far away from everyday stresses. We stayed by the pool,
read and fed the donkeys for the first couple of days just to enjoy the simple
warmth and quiet.
Then some gentle wanderings, eating out and local shopping.
The butchers in
Prats-de-Mollo is fantastic and should be supported.
Ashley, Simon & Sophia
have been fun and a delight to share time and hospitality with. We love them

A
throroughly enjoyable two weeks, we alternated between days out and relaxing
by the pool. Highlights winclude the drive to Camprodon, we went on a Sunday,
the market was great and we ate at Can Po on the way back, lovely day and
drive. We seem to have spent most of our time in water, Aqualand (get there
early!).
The lake near Darnius and snorkling in the sea on the
coast near the Spanish border, the water is a lovely temperature and very
clear. We
also enjoyed the restaurants of both Prats and Ceret and walking around
the shops and back streets. Our two lads, aged 8 + 6 years loved this part
of
France and snorkelling, and the zip wires at Prats were amongst their highlights.
Simon & Ashley were great hosts, both thoughtful
and helpful.

Wow, what a fantastic two weeks! Loved every minute of it.
Can Llouquette lived up to expectations a great place to relax and take it
easy. Simon, Ashley and Sophia have been excellent hosts, very easy going
and allowed us to enjoy the ambiance of the place.
I have enjoyed hanging out
by the pool, playing water quidditch!, loved the cooling plunge pool on a
hot sticky afternoon listening to the sound of the owls at night. We ventured
out
to a few places but especially loved the sleepy towns, villages of Montferrer
and Prats-de-Mollo. Camprodon on the Spanish side was also great and a fabulous
meal at Can Po!
The kids loved the zip wiring outside of Prats and there
are also a lovely woodland walk. I will take away some lovely lasting memories
of Can Llouquette and we will return again ... to continue the experience and
hopefully to do some more walking.
PS. hope the donkeys settle in ... may Simon, Ashley
and Sophia enjoy and continue to build on the Can Llouquette experience ...

have really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the pool! It really has been a
very relaxing holiday. We have not ventured too far. Mainly up the lane to
Montferrer a 40 minute walk for coffee and breakfast.
We did go to Ceret for an afternoon and found it very pleasant
for a visit. The gîte is very comfortable and we have really enjoyed
our stay.

What
a fantastic place. We came here after spending a week in Collioure – the
contrast couldn’t be greater. Although we enjoyed being by the beach
and having the ease of shops/restaurants/ice creams at our fingertips, the
relative remoteness and tranquillity of this place is just what we needed.
Our 4½ year old twin boys have just loved being able
to roam freely here, play in the wooden play house, race around the fish pond,
climb the soil heap, find lizards, climb the ladder, swing on the swings, create
a little café from which to deliver pretend ice creams ... it’s
been a paradise for them (and wonderful for us to see them playing as children
should – freely. Something they really don’t get to do much in
the UK).
So tomorrow morning we head off on our road trip back to
the UK. Very sad to be leaving, but somehow I think we’ll be back.
A really fabulous week. Thank you!!

a welcome and what a week! We have enjoyed all aspects of the Pyrenees at
Can Llouquette – from the very moment when we arrived. It is a beautiful
location so make sure you enjoy time at Can Llouquette as well as visiting
the various towns and villages nearby and enjoying the fantastic
views – particularly as you head for the Spanish border.
Look out for the wildlife as well – some impressive
birds and an amazing family of wild boar that we met enjoying a stroll by the
road side. Your custom will be much appreciated at the cafe/local shop next
to the Mairie in Montferrer.
Simon has been an excellent host – looking after our
needs and making us feel very relaxed and welcome. It has been a great holiday
and really good break for all six of us.

Coast is spectacular, castles,

Gourmand‘ in Prats-de-Mollo, die netten Gespräche mit Euch und das
süße Lachen von Sophia, die sehr stilvolle Einrichtung der Wohnung
... die blauen Fensterläden am Haupthaus, die sternenklaren Nächte,
der Geruch der Luft draußen, Feuer machen in brandneuen Ofen, der Garten
mit dem Holz-zaun (praktisch & schön), Eure Hilfsbereitschaft, und
das herrlich prasselnde Feuer, vor dem wir gerade sitzen.

Wir haben schon
lange keinen so entspannten und ruhigen Urlaub mehr verbracht! Neben einem
kurzen Ausflug nach Céret zum leckeren Mittagessen im

Barcelona, war der tägliche Weg zum Fluss die weiteste Strecke, die
wir in dieser Woche zurück gelegt haben.

war Euer abgelegenes, friedliches Zuhause das perfekte Ferienziel. Wir haben
Eure fröhliche Gastfrundschaft und Offenheit sehr geschätzt und
werden gerne wieder kommen, um zu viert beim Rauschen des Bächleins
einzuschlafen und von zwitschernden Vögeln im Sonnenschein geweckt zu
werden!

we enjoyed such a relaxing and peaceful holiday! Aside from a short trip to
Céret for a delicious lunch in the charming
Hotel Vidal(thanks for the tip!) and Tobias’ quick jaunt to Barcelona,
the furthest we got from the house all week was the path to the stream.
With
a large tummy and a small child your rural and joyful home made the perfect
holiday destination. We appreciated your warm and open welcome, and will
happily return, so that as four we can fall asleep to the sound of the stream
and be
woken in sunshine by twittering birds!

holiday here at Can LLouquette! With all the toys, paddling pool activity,
Sophia's companionship for Ada, emergency milk supplies, chats in the sun
over a glass of chilled rose and excellent tips on restaurants and child-friendly
walks, you have managed to give us the most relaxing holiday I think it's
possible
to have with a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old! And in the most beautiful, calming
setting too.
You have done a splendid job with the gîte and your land
and everything is as comfortable and practical as could be. Thank you for putting
the wood-burning stove in for our arrival - we're only sorry we didn't have
more than 2 fires, but then if you insist on providing 28 degree sunshine in
early April ...
You have made us all very welcome and we have so enjoyed
your company - Ada will be bereft without Sophia. We take with us many happy
memories, and a bit
of a tan before summer begins! And Henry is very proud to be the first o your
guests to have taken a dip in the plunge pool, surrounded by 15 frogs!

very welcome. The weather brightened and we have had brilliant sunshine all
week. We greatly enjoyed Prats de Mollo, Camprodon, Ceret and Collioure. Thank
you for taking us up into the hills, where we had a wonderful seven hour hike,
seeing Griffon vultures, disturbing some wild boar and coming across a hunt.
You have a beautiful house and garden, and I envy you the
challenge of what to do next with the river and surrounding land.

find! This was a real getaway from urban living … it was
lovely to wake up to the sun shining and have breakfast out on the terrace,
to look out to a fantastic view of green lush hillside, and the sound of the
stream below in the valley.
The gîte was lovely and relaxing what a great space!
Ruby
and Josh have had a brilliant time, up at 9am ready to feed the cats … followed
by a quick ‘chat’ with Zouky.
Both Simon and Ashley have been super
hosts and full of enthusiasm to help us decide on day trips, advice on shopping
etc. THANKS AGAIN!

We have had a wonderful
time in this great location: fantastic weather, views, pool and a gîte that
met all our expectations.
But there is more: lovely,
lovely hosts who were always available to help where needed.
We want to come
back and see even more of the mountains, catch up with the cats, and have
another wonderful time.
Shooting stares, warm rain, hot sun, thunder and
lightening, tiny mountain flowers, butterflies fluttering … Definitely
recommend all the walks highlighted and this includes the walk to the ruins
at Montferrer.

I wish that we could stay longer
even if it was only a few short days in this most beautiful of settings.
The
kittens and cats that were scattered around were lovely and were very sweet … Zouky
made a noise that would make you like him the second the ‘eeyore’ began!

would like to say to Ashley that the ‘No 1 Ladies Detective Agency’ was
one of the best books I have ever read and that you have introduced me to a
whole new writer that I love to bits.

here. It’s
been thoroughly relaxing – a wonderful combination of lounging
and activity. The locality charming, and our hosts as helpful
as you could want. If you like your food, Can Po restaurant near
Camprodon
was fab – gourmet food in a welcoming relaxed atmosphere – and
Giselle at Montferrer café was charming to us and the kids.
Walks
and wildlife were another big plus. The notes that come with the
gîte are excellent. If it is not too hot to walk just enjoy
the pool and large number of butterflies – I counted at least
14 species including the Scarce Swallowtail. Enjoy your stay!

and I would love to come back here! The pool was the best! I’ve

recommended beach restaurant at Collioure was
fantastic and le Diamond Noir in Montferrer was also very good.

pass on our thanks again to the man at the restaurant for the
loan of his jump leads when our car battery went flat!
The
restaurant at the bottom of the hill at Le Tech was well worth
a visit, if only to see what came next during the 5-course surprise
lunch! The boys enjoyed their trip
to Spain for
a game of golf whilst we enjoyed relaxing by the pool!
We
arrived back late yesterday afternoon feeling very relaxed.

holiday in this serene idyllic valley. The weather has been superb – hot
and glorious sunshine everyday. The pool has
been a welcome friend …
The
gîte is marvellous – French location but Scandinavian
style! For us the ‘séjour’ was an opportunity
to unwind and imbibe the peacefulness of this place. We thoroughly
recommend the Dali Museum at Figueres – a joy and fun.
Roses
and surrounding towns are lovely and give the opportunity to bask
on beautiful beaches.
One of the best holidays we’ve had.

enjoyed a very relaxing and super two weeks staying at Can Llouquette … many
lazy days basking in the sunshine around the lovely pool enjoying
the beautiful scenery
and listening to the river.
When the mountains have been cloudy,
we’ve found sun on the beach and Collioure.
Our only complaint
is that time passed too quickly … we’d

It was difficult to leave the comforts of the home, although
